Ishida Yuriko mourns the death of Babu, the kitten

On June 15th, actress Ishida Yuriko posted on her pet Instagram channel “snowhoney3ohagi” that she is temporarily taking care of a one-month old kitten which was brought to an animal hospital after a pet store tried to put up in an auction.

The kitten is small that it can fit in her palm.  The kitten was isolated from other cats because it was being treated for fungus and a cold. 

Ishida who is known for raising cats (and a dog), made an offer to take care of the kitten at her home and to keep a close eye and nurse it.

2019.6.15 雨 手のひらにすっぽり収まるほどの ちいさな子猫を 一時的に、お世話させていただく ことになりました。 動物病院にて保護されていたのですが あまりの小ささに驚き、 真菌と風邪の治療中ということで 他の猫たちとも隔離されていて… ほとんど発作的に うちで、なおるまで面倒みますと 申し出てしまいました。 真菌は厄介ですが お薬で治ります。 でもやはり 一ヶ月弱は 完治までかかるそうです。 その短くはない期間、 すこしでもゆっくり安心して 目をかけてあげられたらなと そんなお節介な気持ちから、で ございます。 隔離できる部屋があることと、 私にすこし時間があることが 決め手でした。 それにしても ほんとうに小さい。 200グラムくらいしかない感じです。 こんなちいさな子が いわゆるペットショップで売られるためのオークションに出されていたことに驚き 悲しくなります。 私が見る限りまだ キトンブルーの瞳。 乳歯も生え揃ってないし 生後一ヶ月とすこし ではないかと。 そして驚くほど痩せています。 ゴロゴロと、喉を鳴らしてくれますが ミルクもご飯も自分からは欲さず。 どちらも先ほどシリンジであげましたが たくさんは飲まない。 しっかり様子を見て お世話をしたいと思います。 おちびちゃん、 きょうはゆっくりおやすみ。 あ、 ちなみに、 マンチカンの男の子です。

On June 15th, Ishida gave the baby a temporary name….Babu.

On June 18th, while the kitten has no interested in milk, he is growing and she is able to feed it and Baby was eating and starting to get bigger.

Then on June 20th, Ishida gave the latest update that Babu had passed away at 3:00 a.m. and has gone to heaven. Ishida said the kitten was cute to the very end and she is sad and the death is painful for her.

とても悲しいお知らせをしなくてはいけません。 みなさんにたくさん 可愛がってもらって 心配してもらっていた ばぶおが 19日の午前３時ごろ 天国に行ってしまいました。 ご飯も食べていたし 元気になっていたし… なのに、 急激に 体調を崩していき、 その勢いを なにをどうしても止められなかった。 悲しいお知らせで ほんとうにごめんなさい。 ばぶおは最後まで ほんとうに可愛かったです。 どんなに苦しくても 呼びかけると ゴロゴロいってくれました。 あんなちいさな体で 最後まで 立派でした。 悲しくて 悲しくて ほんとうに、 つらいです。

Ishida found a favorite postcard by Inokuma Jinichiro in which she added her dog Snow and her cats with little Babu on the top of the woman’s head.

And then she posted video and photos of the funeral of Babu:
