Kitagawa Johnny still cared for Inagaki Goro, Kusanagi Tsuyoshi and Katori Shingo even after they left Johnny’s

While the end of SMAP was not one of the better goodbye’s for a pop group, many wondered after Kitagawa Johnny’s passing if there would be any word from former Johnny’s/SMAP members Inagaki Goro, Katori Shingo and Kusanagi Tsuyoshi.

While Kimura Takuya and Nakai Masahiro stayed with Johnny’s and visited him often while he was hospitalized, when the three left Johnny’s Jimusho back in 2017 and became independent, Kitagawa Johnny said in an interview, “It is the most joyful feeling for a parent to watch your children grow.  I will support them, as I did before”.

When the three went independent, Kitagawa also showed how much he thought and appreciated them with the comment of “Whatever they do. No matter where.  S (Suburashii) M (MEMORIES)  A (Arigatou) P (POWER)”.
