Momoiro Clover Z member Sasaki Ayaka will be the MC of the Idol Matsuri 2019 special event on August 14th

Momoiro Clover Z member Sasaki Ayaka will be the MC of the Idol Matsuri 2019 that will be held on August 14th at TV Asahi Roppongi Hills Natsu Matsuri SUMMER STATION.  Joining her will be comedy duo Joujou Gundan.

The event (celebrating its fifth year) is a contest for idols across Japan to cover national anime songs and compete with other idols.  Currently competitions are being held in different regions throughout Japan.

The event will be held prior to the final tournament which will be held on September 7th at Tokyo Dome City Hall on September 7th in which idols will compete for the title of No. 1 idol of 2019.

Sasaki will act as an ambassador for the Idol Matsuri and the challenge song is “Doraemon no Uta” (as can be seen here performed by i☆Ris):

The theme song of the finals and the losing revival web qualifier is the opening theme for “SLAM DUNK” titled “Kimi ga Suki da to Sakebitai” (originally sung by BAAD) (as performed by Sasaki Ayaka):

In addition, BEYOOOOOONDS, Chuning Candy and last year’s official supporter, Kobushi Factory will be appearing.
