“Sailor Moon” and “Neon Genesis Evangelion” voice actress Mitsuishi Kotono will appear on a live drama for the first time

Voice actress Mitsuishi Kotono is one of the most well-known voice actresses in Japan.

From her roles such as Tsukino Usagi of “Sailor Moon” and Katsuragi Misato of “Neon Genesis Evangelion”, Mitsuishi is taking on a new challenge and that is as an actress in the TV Asahi TV drama “Kasouken no Onna” (episode 14) which airs on Thursday at 8 p.m.

In the 14th episode, an incident occurred at a hospital in which a director was killed.

Sasaki Mariko (portrayed by Sawaguchi Yasuko) is a forensic scientist trying to solve the murder and Mitsuishi plays the role of a mysterious beauty who holds the key to what may have happened.

Mitsuishi said about her role, “I was honored because this is a national drama which everyone knows about “Kasouken no Onna”, but I was a little worried. But I felt that if I tried new things, my life would expand”.

When asked about her first live role, Mitsuishi said, “In the past, I would play a mysterious character by voice, but this is the first time in my life that I appeared in a TV drama. I was convinced why the offer was made after listening to the setting, which will be revealed in the climax”.
