Natsuzora episode 139 receives an average audience rating of 23.8%…thanks to Typhoon #15?

Episode 139 of the NHK TV drama series “Natsuzora” (Monday-Saturday at 8:00) starring Suzu Hirose (21) was broadcast on September 9th and the average audience rating was 23.8%, surpassing episode 15 (back on April 17th) which had a 23.6% rating.

Media reports feel that perhaps Typhoon No. 15, which forced many people to stay home, led to higher than normal ratings.

“Natsuzora” is the 100th Memorial Asadora series which premiered on April 1, 2019 and is expected to end on September 28th.

The story is loosely based on the life of animator Okuyama Reiko and revolves around Okuhara Natsu (portrayed by Suzu Hirose) who was raised by her father’s old friend, dairy farmer Shibata Takeo in Tokachi, Hokkaido after the death of her parents during the war.  As she is a stranger now living with a new family, she eventually gets to learn from Shibata Taiju.

Natsu decides to move to Tokyo to become an animator.
