Back in March 2017, the cheer dance film titled “Chiadan: Joshi kousei ga chiadansu de zenbei seihashichatta honto no hanashi” starring Suzu Hirose.
The original film was about Tomonaga Hikari (portrayed by Hirose) enrolling in the Cheer Dance Club for Fukui Chuo High School to impress a boy.
But when her no-nonsense coach Saotome Kaoru (portrayed by Amami Yuki) declares that she wants to become U.S. champions and no boyfriends or dating is allowed, many quit the team. But Hikari’s teammate encourages to stick with it. But can they achieve their goal of becoming U.S. champions?
On July 20th, a TBS drama titled “Cheer☆Dan” will be broadcasting it’s first episode featuring a new group of students trying to become a successful Cheer Dance team.
The main drama stars Tsuchiya Tao, Ishii Anna, Sakuma Yui, Araki Yuko and many more. Hirose Suzu, who starred in the original film, will have a special appearance in the drama reprising her role as Tomonaga Hikari.
On the Cheer☆Dan, Instagram page, a three-shot photo featuring Araki Yuko, Hirose Suzu and Tsuchiya Tao was posted.
