The Day After Halloween in Tokyo, Christmas time begins!

It’s an interesting sight to see in Tokyo, as not long after Halloween is over, Tokyo starts to go in Christmas mode for the next two months.

As Halloween has become a big sales boom with people buying costumes, candy, cakes, etc.

Now it goes in full bloom with Christmas and trying to make sure the illumination events are prepared by the second to third week of November.

It’s a common sight that people in Tokyo will see in the next few days as construction workers are working to make sure the Christmas trees are up, stores and theme parks are doing the same.

In the US, while stores do the same (especially Costco, which started in September it seemed), in Japan, things really go into full force the day after Halloween.

One of the first areas that like to get theirs up and running is Tokyo Dome City (Bunkyo ward) and their LaQua Christmas 2019 kicks off on November 1st (NOTE: the full elimination titled TOKYO DOME CITY WINTER LIGHTS GARDEN kicks off on November 13th).

Also, kicking off today is VENUSFORT Illumination – Grateful Harmony- in Odaiba (right next to TeamLab Borderless).

A big one kicking off tomorrow, November 2nd, is the Baccarat Eternal Lights at Yebisu Garden Place which starts at 4:00 p.m. through midnight.

Odaiba’s Aqua City kicks off their TOKYO RESORT GERMAN CHRISTMAS on November 7th. Also, on November 7th, Marunouchi’s Bright Christmas 2019 – STAR WARS “Precious for you” will kick off (right across the street from Tokyo Station).

While Omotesando Hills kicks off OMOTESANDO HILLS CHRISTMAS 2019 on November 13th. And Shiodome’s Caretta Illumination 2019 ~Arabian Nights~ begins on November 14th. As does Christmas in Sunshine City in Ikebukuro.

While Rikugi-en Garden’s illumination begins on November 17th (NOTE: This lasts only until December 9th) and WHITE KITTE 2019 kicks off on November 20th.

I’ll have a Christmas Guide to Tokyo’s Illumination Areas for 2019 coming soon!
