Ratings for “Doraemon” and “Crayon Shin Chan” have fallen with new time slot

Popular TV Asahi anime series “Doraemon” (currently on Friday at 7:00 p.m.) and “Crayon Shin-Chan” (Friday at 7:30 p.m.) are moved to a new time slot.

On October 5th, both series moved from Friday evenings to Saturday afternoon and “Doraemon” began broadcasting at 4:30 p.m. and “Doraemon” at 5:00 p.m.

“Doraemon” has been broadcast on television for 38-years since 1981.

Many fans on SNS have shared their sadness that both anime series will no longer be part of the Friday evening “Kinyo Golden Time” (7:00 p.m.) and at the time, both series would earn nearly 20% in ratings together and have lately received anywhere between 12-14% together.

But since the move, according to Video Research Ltd., the ratings for both shows together are around 6-7%.

Comments on SNS are as follows:

The change of time slot for “Doraemon” and “Crayon Shin Chan” is really annoying.  It is an animation that a child who came home from school on Friday would look forward to seeing at home”.

On Saturday evenings, children are at cram school, prep schools, lessons, they aren’t home!

I go out on Saturday evening!  I can’t watch these shows any longer.
