Yamashita Tatsuro released his 52nd single “RECIPE”, the theme song to the Kimura Takuya drama “GRAND MAISON TOKYO”.

The last time a Yamashita Tatsuro song appeared on a KimuTaku drama was back in 2003 with Yamashita’s “RIDE ON TIME” used as the ending theme for the Sunday theater drama “GOOD LUCK!!”.

The single comes with the insert which is a bi-fold with lyrics of both vocal tracks. Artwork of the mouthless Yamashita character continues to be illustrated by Tori Miki.

The single kicks off with “RECIPE”, a synth and guitar-driven track driven by Yamashita Tatsuro’s vocals.

The song is about “Let’s make a happiness recipe”, boil the mischievous and madness, make the thoughts of one another become one. Throw a little spice into a pot of smiles, no shapes will remain, make a happiness recipe.

It’s a simple, happy and delightful song written and features instruments played by Yamashita. A song that makes you want to sing to it!

The second track is a live version of his popular song “Southbound #9” which was included in his 1998 album “COZY”. The live track was recorded live at NHK Hall back on September 7, 2019.

The coupling track continues Yamashita’s consistency of utilizing a live track as a coupling song and for any fan, any live track releases from Yamashita is great, considering the last live album from Yamashita was back in 1989 with “JOY – TATSURO YAMASHITA LIVE-“.

And the final track is the karaoke version of “RECIPE”.

Overall, another enjoyable CD single from Yamashita Tatsuro! Recommended!
