A woman was arrested for sending threatening e-mails to Animate

A South Korean woman (34) who was living in Nagoya has been arrested.  The woman is suspected of sending threatening e-mails to anime goods company Animate.

According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the woman sent e-mails to the company between August 8-22 and wrote “I wish you were all killed instead of KyoAni” and “Prepare to die anytime”.

Going as far as using the words “Korosu” (kill) 3852 times and interfering and obstructing with the company’s operations, that the company had to strengthen security.

The woman also repeated purchases and cancellations on the company’s online shop and was suspended last September.

According to investigators, the woman was angry about the company’s response.
