A few SKE48 members tested positive for COVID

SKE48 announced on its website on August 2nd that Sugiyama Aika (19) and Ota Ayaka (20) have tested positive for the novel coronavirus. Both are in good physical condition.

It was also reported that Hidaka Yuzuki (23) and Mizuno Airi (18) were close contacts and as a result, are under the guidance of the public health center.

Sugiyama wrote, “Since I had a fever at home on August 1st, I did not participate in the Team S performance on that day and was waiting at home, and on August 2, I was diagnosed with a positive PCR test”.

Ota wrote, “I complained of discomfort with my physical condition on August 1st and as a result of undergoing a PCR test, I tested negative. But on August 2nd, I took a PCR test again and it was confirmed as positive. On August 1st, it was the day of the Zepp tour in Fukuoka and confirmed that I had a fever before rehearsal. I went home immediately after being isolated from the members”.

AKB48 announced earlier that seven members had tested positive for COVID.
