Five more SKE48 members tested positive for COVID, theater performances suspended, online events postponed

COVID continues to strike the 48 groups and this time SKE48 members Arai Yuki, Ego Yuna, Okamoto Ayaka, Hidaka Yuzuki and trainee Hayashi Mirei of SKE48 have tested positive for the novel coronavirus according to the SKE48 official website.

It was decided that the theater performances will be suspended for the time being, as members are being checked and because of the disinfection and sterilization of the SKE48 theater and training hall.  Upcoming performances in Nagoya for August 30th has been postponed and also the online talk and two-shot photo session sche4duled on August 28th also has been postponed as offices and training areas will be disinfected and sterilized

In addition, PCR tests will be voluntarily conducted on members who are considered to be close contacts and infected members will receive medical treatment.
