Credit cards can’t be used at JR Ticket vending machines nationwide due to system failure

For those waking up this morning in Japan and are about to head to work, just know that  JR Ticket vending machines are not taking credit cards temporarily as there was a system failure.

According to NHK, this is happening throughout Japan this morning. You can purchase tickets via cash if needed.

JR is currently investigating the cause and are working to bring the system back up.
