Governor Koike Yuriko urges people to avoid non-essential outings until April 12th

Governor Koike Yuriko had a news conference and asked for residents to avoid non-essential outings through April 12th.  Urging people to work at home as much as possible and staying away from restaurants and gatherings.

The situation was “severe” and 41 new cases were reported in Tokyo.

Tokyo has now overtook Hokkaido and has become the center of Japan’s coronavirus epidemic and that a lockdown of the capital is now possible.

Koike also said the next three weeks are critical for whether Tokyo would see an “overshoot” and warned that a lockdown of the capital was possible.
