Yamada Takayuki, Mackenyu, Niwa Niki received criticism for traveling to Okinawa despite Okinawa Governor’s “Do Not Travel to Okinawa” request

The Governor of Okinawa, Tamaki Denny, asked people to not to travel to Okinawa saying, “Okinawa cannot provide sufficient hospitality due to the declaration of emergency.  The medical system including remote islands is also in an emergency.  Please cancel your trip to Okinawa.  Stay at home please!”.

Despite the warnings, actors Yamada Takayuki (36), Arata Mackenyu (23) and model Niwa Nikki decided to travel to Okinawa as shown from photos taken by Bunshun Online.

While the declaration of emergency was lifted in 39 prefectures including Okinawa, the Governor of Okinawa requested for self-restraint.

Yamada’s management Stardust Promotion was asked about him traveling to Okinawa and they replied, “The question you asked is a fact.  In this situation, we will pay close attention to him for this careless behavior”.

Mackenyu’s management Top Coat said, “He confirmed the fact about staying in Okinawa and will be careful of such behavior in the future”.

As for Niwa’s management, Avex Management, they replied, “It was confirmed by him that he traveled to Okinawa from May 11-13 and it was a fact that he went on a cruise.  In this situation, he admits acting carelessly”.

Niwa just posted on Twitter, ” I am very sorry for causing a great deal of inconvenience to everyone concerned during the declaration of emergency. I also sincerely regret and apologize for making the fans and many people feel uncomfortable. I will act responsibly to prevent this from happening in the future”.
