The Governor of Okinawa, Tamaki Denny, asked people to not to travel to Okinawa saying, “Okinawa cannot provide sufficient hospitality due to the declaration of emergency. The medical system including remote islands is also in an emergency. Please cancel your trip to Okinawa. Stay at home please!”.

Despite the warnings, actors Yamada Takayuki (36), Arata Mackenyu (23) and model Niwa Nikki (23) decided to travel to Okinawa as shown from photos taken by Bunshun Online.

Mackenyu has now posted an apology on Twitter for his actions.

Arata writes, “This time, people are working hard to stop the novel coronavirus. I made everyone feel uncomfortable due to my careless actions and caused a great deal of inconvenience to everyone involved. I apologize for the inconvenience. I apologize to everyone in Okinawa. I will keep in mind the criticism from everyone and review on the decisions I make and work on my behavior. I am very sorry”.
