“TERRACE HOUSE: TOKYO 2019-2020” former cast member Mizukoshi Emika wrote a heartbreaking post on Instagram in regards to Kimura Hana’s death and the cyberbullying she received.
If there was a character that received a lot of flack on the show, Emika bared a lot of burden from the show hosts and also on SNS.
Emika wrote, “That night, I happened to be up late and I saw her Instagram Story post. I sent her a DM without any thought of being worried but there was something about her response that was different and she didn’t reply after some time. So I became worried, I went to her Twitter and saw her post. I realized something was wrong and ran out of my house and and went towards her house. When I arrived, she wasn’t there. So, I went to the hospital and when I arrived at that hospital, she was there. While I was heading there, there was something inside me that I thought she was still alive. I would hug her like nothing was wrong. I would say to her “If you are ever in a situation like this, you’ll always have friends who would rush to you. The only thing you can hurt yourself is in the wrestling ring”.
After she graduated (from Terrace House), we promised that we would go on a trip. We would drink until we both collapsed. We would go eat together again.
I too was on Terrace House and received hateful messages and was hurt. That scene was televised, so I think people know. I would receive ‘You’re on TV so it’s inevitable’, ‘if you’re hurt then don’t be on TV’, ‘die’, ‘get out’, I received many comments like this. But the people whose jobs are to stand in front of the cameras on TV, we are humans too. We have feelings and emotions. If you want to be on TV, its unavoidable. You may not be prepared, you may be mentally weak but that’s not the problem. You can say anything to a person who is famous. We can’t let this trend continue and it needs to be stopped.
No matter how sad I am, she won’t be coming back. I can no longer see her smile. I can no longer eat with her anymore. I can’t get that last image of her out of my mind. Her smile was always beautiful and wonderful. Because of that final image, that was her last. I don’t want to think, I don’t want to believe.
To Hana: We argued, we went shopping together a lot, we went out to watch movies and we went out together. It was fun. We were always busy and supported each other. During your pro wrestling matches, you were awesome. When you were falling in love, you were very cute. When I think we’ll never meet again, that makes me suffer so much. Please, please, sleep softly. Rest softly. No one can hurt you anymore. Thank you for being in my life. I am sorry that I couldn’t help you. From the bottom of my heart, I will be praying for your soul”.
