Model Takechi Midori (now Midori Chen) was featured on “TERRACE HOUSE: BOYS x GIRLS NEXT DOOR” (2012-2014) for eleven episodes (episodes 39-50) and while many of the cast members of the first season are often seen, hanging out with other Terrace House alumnus, Takechi left Terrace House behind. And her career has blossomed. She is also happily married, is a mom and continues to model.

Takechi released an updated Instagram story, this one gives full detail of how Midori felt and we will use this than the previous comment:

“A young girl from a very popular ‘Reality show’ Terrace House, took her own life a few days ago.

She was suffering from all the hate messages she was receiving from the viewers of the show.  Rest in Peace Hana, I feel your pain and your struggle.

I HATE talking about this show or even mentioning but I was on the show and was portrayed awfully.  And I was so naive back then I couldn’t even say no.  They portrayed me almost as a different person.

During those days I would wake up everyday with 800+ hate messages.  It was the darkest time of my life.  But one day I said, screw this.  I’m out.  And just left.  I had the courage to throw everything away.  Didn’t care about the fame, didn’t care about the money (I was hardly getting paid).  I was actually praying that people would forget about me as soon as possible.

I was lucky enough to meet my husband shortly after and find my true happiness in Taiwan.

This is my story and I was a lucky one.  There are so many other casts of this show still suffering from the image that they were given, and they have to live with it because they need to pay the rent.

I still receive very very few hate messages from people who rewatched the show but now it doesn’t both me at all but I just want people to know, TV show is just a TV show.  What you see on TV is already been edited, editing can change everything, Don’t think a person you see on TV is like that in real life.  It is not real.

I promised myself I’m not going to mention the show, but this tragedy felt like it was very personal to me and I knew I had to raise my voice.
