Sakaguchi Hironobu (best known as the creator of the “Final Fantasy” series) created the smartphone video game “Terra Battle” which started back in 2014.

Six years later,  the video game will be ending service.

“Terra Battle” will be ending on June 30, 2020 at 9:00 p.m.

Sakaguchi posted the following message:

I am very sorry, but we are ending service for “Terra Battle”.

Starting with a test version app distributed in Canada back in September 2014 and an official release in Japan, USA, Canada, UK, France, Germany, Spain in October and then in April 2015 in Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau, many gamers have played “Terra Battle” in the last six years.

At first, I devised a system based on “Hasami Shogi” which made me feel nostalgic because it was a long time ago.  It was the first time I managed an RPG on the smartphone.  I’ve learned a lot from this experience and I’m grateful.

Currently, Mistwalker is working on the next work “FANTASIAN” at Apple Arcade. In an attempt to return to my origin in the NES era and express it using a diorama.

We are proceeding with development and putting all our strength to it.  I hope to see you again in the next “world”.

Thank you for the continued support.
