“Boku no Hero Academia” Bakugo voice actor Okamoto Nobuhiko to have surgery due to scarring in his vocal cords

Okamoto Nobuhiko is a seiyuu (voice actor) best known for his role as Bakugo Katsuki in “Boku no Hero Academia”, Karma in “Assassination Classroom”, Louis Napoleon in “Captain Tsubasa” and Ghiaccio in “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure”.

In a surprised blog post, Okamoto wrote, “I had discomfort in my throat for a long time, and when I was getting it examined, I was diagnosed with scarring in my vocal chords. Since it is necessary to get it treated, I have discussed with my doctor to arrange for surgery in June.

I am very sorry but I must take a rest from activity until I can resume work, but I will devote myself to medical treatment for about a month so I can do my best.

I will need to rest after the operation, so I will update my blog while consulting my doctor of my physical condition and will announce my return on my blog and my management’s homepage.

I want to let people know that the plans for surgery were made before the novel coronavirus.
