Kimura Takuya celebrated his first performance for his first solo live tour

Kimura Takuya (47) celebrated the first day of his first solo live tour at Yoyogi No. 1 Gymnasium in Tokyo.

The actor/singer and former SMAP member sung 20 songs including theme songs from various dramas he appeared in with over 12,500 fans in attendance, including actor/comedian Akashiya Sanma (64), model Tominaga Ai (37), Oikawa Mitsuhiro (50), Nakamura Anne (32), Oshima Yuko (31), Miura Shohei (31), Mamiya Shotaro (26) and more.

Kimura began with “NEW START” and said to the audience, “Welcome! Sorry I kept you waiting.  I never thought I would stand in such a close place in front of you again” (which led to the audience cheering and screaming “Welcome back!”, while others were in tears of seeing Kimura perform live again in five years).

Kimura performed songs from his album “Go with the Flow”, “True Love” from the drama “Asunaro Hakuso” (1993), “La-La-La Love Song” from “Long Vacation” (1996) and also performed SMAP songs “SHAKE” and “Yozora no Mukou”.

Kimura mentioned Sanma during his performance and said, “Sanma said to me, ‘Why do you wan to perform songs only from the album?  So, I sang SMAP songs because Sanma gave me that push”.
