The domino effect is occurring after it was announced last week at a Johnny’s Jimusho that the late president Kitagawa Johnny had sexually abused numerous people who were part of the agency.

As Johnny’s now has new leadership and will focus on compensating victims, with the admission of Kitagawa’s abuse, many companies are now ending their contracts or not renewing advertising campaigns with anyone affiliated with Johnny’s Jimusho.  JCB announced today that they will no longer be including ARASHI’s Ninomiya Kazunari in their CM’s (Ninomiya has been the face of the company’s ad campaigns since 2010) until Johnny’s Jimusho compensates victims.

One of the most popular and also veteran members of Johnny’s Jimusho is Kimura Takuya.

On September 12th, McDonald’s Japan announced that, in response to the sexual assault scandal involving the late Kitagawa Johnny, they will not renew advertising campaigns featuring Takuya Kimura (50) and other talents affiliated with Johnny’s Entertainment after their contracts expire.

In 2023 alone, McDonald’s Japan had commercials starring Okada Junichi, Inohara Yoshihiko, KinKi Kids members Domoto Koichi and Domoto Tsuyoshi in addition to Kimura.

On September 13th, Tokyo Shoko Research announced that Johnny’s Office and 13 group companies have 226 business partners, including indirect transactions. Of these, the “advertising industry” accounted for the largest number of companies, at 29.
