Nintendo announced that from their continuing investigation around 140,000 additional accounts may have been compromised. The passwords for these 140,000 accounts were reset and each customer was contacted separately.
Nintendo revealed that a significant breach happened in April and that 160,000 accounts were affected. With the new announcement, that brings the number close to 300,000 accounts.
Nintendo is recommending people to change their passwords for both their Nintendo account and their Nintendo Network ID and also setting up two-factor authentication.
