On social media, netizens are debating which situation was worth in the two major entertainment scandals of 2020 in Japan.
Actor Higashide Masahiro, who is married to Watanabe Anne (in which the two are in process of divorce proceedings). Higashide was married with children and had a three year affair with actress Karata Erika.
While comedian Watabe Ken had sexual affairs with multiple women with no relationship attachment. Sex only at public restrooms which lasted 3-5 minutes long.
Netizens say in Watabe Ken was have an affair but there was no connection, just sex. While Higashide’s affair, had a connection.
On Tokyo MX’s “5-ji ni Muchu!”, actress Miho Jun said in comparison of the two, “It’s weird to say this but playing around with multiple women is not as bad as in a cheating relationship”.
Another said, “it is better to have an affair with one person because there is no honesty when one has multiple affairs. Watabe treated women as sexual objects”.
Many said it’s not about what is the worst, but which is the better of the two and which one of the situations can be forgiven?
