Shinjuku Station’s “Tozai Jiyu Tsuro” (East-West Free Passage) has been completed

For those who come to Tokyo and go through Shinjuku Station for the first few times, many get lost as the station is like a maze because Shinjuku Station East and Shinjuku Station West are two separate locations.

It’s been a major complaint for years from travelers and so construction for a passage way has been ongoing to make things user friendly by eliminating that inconvenience where people no longer have to go around, but now can go through a passage way.

In addition, a large-scale station renewal is being done and its aiming for completion by 2040s.
