Kobayashi Maya splits from her office, suddenly absent on TBS “Good Luck!” and on her YouTube channel insists she has been bullied by TBS staff

TBS freelance announcer Kobayashi Maya (41) is a face that many people are used to seeing on the TBS morning show “Good Luck!” (aka “Gutto-Luck!”).

Kobayashi announced that she ended her contract with Ikushima Planning Office (Ikushima Kikaku) on November 12th.  On the same day, as she was to appear as a commentator on TBS “Good Luck!”, she was absent.

Kobayashi then went on her YouTube channel (alongside her husband Kunimitsu Akira, a chiropractor) and streamed a live video and said, “I stepped down from the program, I can’t do it anymore”. According to Kobayashi, she has been bullied by TBS staff of the fashion corner and couldn’t stand it and decided not to go on location on Tuesday.

TBS has denied she was bullied.  TBS announced that she will be drop from the program.  “Kobayashi Maya who has been on the show since the earlier days and contributed to the program.  This time, Kobayashi-san and the program, there were times when the schedules didn’t match and so, Kobayashi-san decided to leave the program”.

Her office issued the statement, “Notice about Kobayashi Maya who belongs to our company. We have continued to discuss carefully with her but due to each of our thoughts, it became difficult to carry out normal management work. Therefore, as of November 12, 2020, we decided to terminate the management contract with Kobayashi Maya”.

Kobayashi announced that she was retiring from the entertainment world in August 2018 but in May of 2019, she resumed activities and appeared on the TBS show, “Nakai Masahiro no Kinyoubi no Smile tachi e”.
