The latest on Miura Haruma’s death

As the entertainment industry is reeling after the death of popular actor Miura Haruma, which the death has been reported by multiple news outlets as suicide, those who knew Miura have a hard time believing the news because he was a positive person.

Miura posted on his Instagram about being cast in a new role for a TBS drama “Okane no Kireme ga Koi no Hajimari” on Instagram:

Miura was scheduled to appear as a singer on the special 3 1/2 hour “Music Station” special on TV Asahi on July 24th. His new single ” Night Diver” was to be released in August.

Miura’s management Amuse released a statement confirming Miura’s death but are currently confirming the details of his death.

Those who lived in the same condominium said she often seen Miura and often saw his car in the underground parking lot and figured he didn’t really go out for the past month.

The condominium manager said he saw police officers entering his living space at around noon on July 18th.

Another resident said the ceiling of the rooms in the condominium are high (8.8 feet/2.7 meters) and the closet is about the same height.  So, when asked if it was possible for someone to hang themselves, the resident said it would be possible.

Meanwhile celebrities are coming out with their feelings after reading about Miura’s death.  On “Music Day 2020”, Nishikawa Takanori (49) revealed that he was scheduled to be in a movie which starred Miura.  Shirota Yu who was also on the same program and a close friend of Miura, did a cover of GReeeeN’s “Kiseki” in tears.

Tokyo Sports released an article that he may have suffered from hate comments on SNS which is becoming a big problem in the entertainment world.  Miura was to costar

Ikuta co-starred alongside Nogizaka46’s Ikuta Erika for the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical “Whistle Down the Wind ~Immaculate Eyes~” in which Miura was to play a man who broke out of jail and Ikuta would play the role of a pure girl who believed the man was a reincarnation of Jesus Christ.

The performance was to take place as Nissei Theatre in Tokyo from March 7th to the 29th, and also slated for performances in Toyama, Fukuoka, Aichi and Osaka for two months. But due to the spread of the novel coronavirus, the performance period was significantly shortened.  But because the performances were still ongoing, there was a lot of criticism because of the musical happening during the time of the novel coronavirus and it was said that Miura was the one who felt the most pressured.

It is said that Miura is a perfectionist when it comes to his work and not knowing if the performance would continue and if it did return, he was afraid that he would be flooded with criticism, according to the article.  A source told the article that he had mental health issues around three to four years ago.

On the day of Miura’s death, “Confidence Man JP Romance” was broadcast on Fuji TV and after the broadcast, a message was shown, “Miura Haruma died today.  We would like to express our deepest condolences and pray for his soul”.
