Hamasaki Maria of Abema’s “Ikinari Marriage” was found dead, police investigating death as a suicide

Hamasaki Maria (23) who appeared on the Abema show “Ikinari Marriage” was found dead.

The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the case as a suicide base don what they found at the site.

“Ikinari Marriage” is a reality show in which men and women meet for the first time and they have a 30-day honeymoon.  The show ends with the final two who decided to get married or break up.

Hamasaki was on season four which began broadcasting on July 25th.

Abema TV has announced they are suspending production and distribution of the program, giving top priority to the bereaved family and related parties.

Hamasaki had said the reason why she wanted to be on the show was “I’m rushing to get married because I want to have many children”.

According to the show, the shooting of “Ikinari Marriage” was going smoothly, Hamasaki’s death was before the final choice was decided on the show.

Hamasaki has been blogging for the program every day since July but stopped on August 16th.  Nishikata Keisuke, who was her partner on the show stopped updating his blog on the 24th.

This is the second death of a reality TV show star since Kimura Hana of “Terrace House: Tokyo 2019-2020” which was due to the slander that occurred on SNS.
