Long-running TBS Sunday variety show "Uwasa no Tokyo Magazine" to end in March 2021

Since Oct. 1989, the TBS Sunday variety show “Uwasa no Tokyo Magazine” (1:00 p.m.) will be ending in March 2021.

While the ratings for the variety show were doing very well, the last episode on November 8th was 8.1% in the Kanto region and has the highest rating for its time slot, according to Sponichi Annex, a bureau official said it was because it was time to rejuvenate viewers and to reduce costs.

According to the article, TBS has been reorganizing programs for several years with an emphasis on how to acquire viewers aged 13 to 59.
