A lot of major networks in Japan are under scrutiny for not reporting about the sexual assault caused by the late Kitagawa Johnny, former president of Johnny’s Jimusho. TBS has released the following statement:

Today, Johnny’s office held a press conference and apologized for the long-term sexual assault of minors by the late Kitagawa Johnny.

We have expressed my sincere commitment to compensation and relief for the victims.

TBS TV will continue to request that Johnny & Associates provide relief to victims and prevent recurrence of human rights violations, and we will continue to pay close attention to how the company is progressing steadily and take appropriate measures.

The TBS Group intends to make even greater efforts to respect human rights.
