Johnny’s Jimusho updated its official website on the 19th, suggesting a change in the company’s name in response to the sexual assault scandal involving founder Kitagawa Johnny (who passed away in 2019).

On this day, the company held a board of directors meeting to consider the overall direction of company management and confirmed its policies.

The site featured a report titled “Report on Future Company Management”, and the new president, Higashiyama Noriyuki (56), signed the message, “We take your opinions and criticism seriously, and we have repeatedly considered the future direction of our company. Today, we held a meeting of our board of directors to discuss from all angles the major direction of our company’s operations, including the handling of shares held by Fujishima, specific measures for compensation for damages, change of company name, and the future of our talent and employees. We have confirmed the direction we should take. Going forward, we will closely examine legal matters, taxation, and other issues. We would like to report once again on October 2nd on the details of our progress. We apologize for the inconvenience, worry, and inconvenience caused to the victims, business partners, and fans. We appreciate your patience and understanding”.
