Matsui Jurina talks about AKB48 not being selected to participate in this year’s NHK’s Kouhaku Uta Gassen

Matsui Jurina’s graduate was postponed due to COVID-19, but the idol still had hopes to perform on NHK’s Kouhaku Uta Gassen.

Unfortunately, while all three 46 groups were selected to participate, the 48 groups were not.  And AKB48 will be missing NHK’s Kouhaku Uta Gassen after performing at the events since 2011.

Matsui wrote:

I participated at Kouhaku Uta Gassen as both a member of SKE48 and AKB48.  Before graduating, I wanted to stand on that stage again as a 48 group, so it’s complicated with sad feelings and apologetic feelings.  I think the good thing about the 48 groups is that they stand up facing forward, no matter what.  Thank you for your continued support!”.
