NiziU’s debut single “Step and a step” takes #1 on the Oricon Single Weekly Charts, the second female group in Japan to surpass 300,000 in sales for a debut single

The debut single “Step and a Step” for nine-member global girls group NiziU sold 312,000 copies in their first week and won their first appearance on the Oricon Weekly Single Charts announced on December 8th.

The sales for “Step and a Step” was the second highest in the history for a female artist’s debut for the first week.  The #1 debut for a new group is Hinatazaka46 for their single “Kyun” which sold 476,000 copies.

NiziU also became the ninth group to make their debut with sales over 300,000 copies which includes:
