According to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, 602 people tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
This surpassed the high of 584 people from December 5th and is the first time the positive cases surpassed 600 people.
137 people were in their 30s, followed by 135 people in their 20s, 111 people in their 40s and 86 people in their 50s.
The number of severely ill patients remained unchanged from the previous day at 59.
