ARASHI reveals that before Corona, they were planning to perform live in the USA

In an interview with Daily Sports, ARASHI was interviewed and talked to the publication as they near their December 31st until they go on indefinite hiatus.

Looking back of this final year during the coronavirus troubled year, the members said it hasn’t really sunken in that they are nearing the December 31st date but are busy preparing for their live performance on New Year’s Even for “This is ARASHI LIVE 2020”.

The group revealed that prior to the novel coronavirus spreading throughout the world, they were planning to perform in the United States, which was the dream of Kitagawa Johnny.

Matsumoto Jun said, “The beginning of Johnny’s was that Johnny, the former president, grew up watching entertainment in the United States and brought it to Japan. I would like to live in the United States.  That was my goal”.

The group even created a music video in Los Angeles for “Tuning Up” which was released in November 2019:

Matsumoto continued, “With the hope that we could grasp the American dream, we planned to take on the challenge of making it a reality in a year. But the epic dream had to be abandoned by the global plague.  However, we never considered postponing the suspension of activities. I can’t imagine what that the world would change with Corona”.
