VS DAMASHII (successor to VS ARASHI) aired on January 3rd

“VS DAMASHII”, the successor to VS ARASHI, aired with a three hour broadcast on Fuji TV.

Aiba Masaki of ARASHI will be the host of the new series and will feature Johnny’s members from Sato Shiori of Sexy Zone, Fujii Ryusei of Johnny’s WEST, Kishi Yuta of King & Prince, Ukisho Hidaka of Johnny’s the Shonen World and more.

In fact, right when the series was airing, Ukisho Hidaka’s name was trending on Twitter.

While Johnny’s fans applauded the new show, critics felt the show should have been more diverse as non-Johnny’s fans may not want to watch it.  Also, others were concerned that as Aiba is the new MC, the main guests are juniors and he is the only veteran on the show.

Other comments on SNS are of how it’s not the same without the other ARASHI members.

But for now, it’s too early to tell if “VS DAMASHII” will become a success or a failure.
