Hirosue Ryoko is the latest entertainer to decline being an Olympic torchbearer

Kyodo News is reporting that actress Hirosue Ryoko who was scheduled to run as a torchbearer for Kochi Prefecture for the Tokyo Olympics has declined.

In addition, Japan women’s soccer team captain Sawa Homare declined due to poor physical condition, figure skater Uno Shoma of Aichi Prefecture has also declined.

Some gave their reasons why they declined, including comedian Tamura Atushi of London Boots Ichi-go Ni-go declined because of then Tokyo Olympics President Mori Yoshiro’s sexist comments.  In another article, one said to Maid News that they read that one was to be in quarantine for two weeks before running and so when they went to the official website, they were surprised of what one must do, if they want to be a torchbearer.
