Sony in Japan has announced that the PS3, PS Vita and PSP stores will be shutting down.
PS3 and PSP games can not be purchased after July 2nd, Vita games after August 27th but redownload of games purchased in the past will be possible.
A gamer learned that the free games they got from PS Plus will be lost if you canceled PS Plus after the stores are closed. If you purchase PS Plus, you will not be able to gain access of those games.
