Watanabe Mahoto has been released from jail

Former YouTuber Watanabe Mahoto (28) who was arrested last month on suspicion of having a girl send him obscene images, was released on April 2nd.

Watanabe Mahoto was released around 8:30 p.m. from Tokyo Wangan Police Station by car.

According to investigators, the Tokyo District Court has approved the cancellation of Watanabe’s detention after he admitted to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department’s investigation that he had the girl send him photos to satisfy his sexual desire.

On January 21st, Watanabe was accused of threatening a 15-year-old high school girl to send an obscene selfie photos of her to him. Then he threatened to her if she told anyone.

The accusation came the day after he and former Keyakizaka46 member Imaizumi Yui announced their marriage.

The problems for Watanabe began when a 15-year-old girl sent a photo to Watanabe of her wearing an outfit with tape on her chest. After seeing the photo, Watanabe contacted the girl and demanded she send a picture of her whole body without hiding her chest.

He told her, if you send 30 obscene photos, he will call her. If she sends 50 photos, he will meet with her.

Scared of Mahoto’s request, she told a friend and the friend contact Watanabe who was furious at the girl and said he was betrayed.

This led to the girl to contact YouTuber KoreKore and KoreKore used his YouTube influence to expose Watanabe. After UUUM confirmed the details, UUUM then canceled his contract.

This was not the first time of trouble for Mahoto.

He was one of the OG Japanese YouTubers who had 2.7 million followers, but in June 2019, Watanabe was arrested in Minato-ku, Tokyo for beating a woman (a former idol, Yumemiru Adolescence member Kyoka) whom he cohabitated with and stepping on her face.

According to reports, Mahoto said he was drunk. News reports are saying that his girlfriend confronted Mahoto in regard to his infidelity and he got angered and beat and injured her.

Mahoto was part of the hip hop group Kaiware Hammer (featuring Mahoto and fellow YouTuber Imiga). Mahoto was the rapper known as BEMA (from WatanaBEMAhoto).
