Former SKE48 Kitagawa Ryoha receives support and criticism for idol group crowdfunding

Former SKE48 member Kitagawa Ryoha graduated from SKE48 back in 2019 and said she will produce a new idol group in Nagoya at the end of last month and she will be collecting funds through crowdfunding on CAMPFIRE.

For those who donate Y2,000 will get a thank you e-mail, Y3,000 will receive a limited live photo, Y5,000 will receive a limited edition towel.

However, for those who donate Y500,000, there are two types of perks, one which one can talk while eating yakiniku in a private room with Kitagawa with a two-shot cheki (instant camera shot) and comment at the end of the meal, the other is to have the opportunity to enjoy karaoke with Kitagawa and receive a 2-shot cheki and comment at the end of the karaoke.  The time limit is 90 minutes.

The topic was brought up on “Viking MORE” broadcast on April 6th and Kitagawa who appeared on VTR said that her staff looked at other idol-related crowdfunding and researched and discussed it.

Former AKB48 leader who was on the show said that she read the page and said she fully supports Kitagawa’s crowdfunding campaign because she wants to support her dream.  While moderator Sakagami Shinobu had a problem understanding why would fans pay money in crowdfunding.

Meanwhile on SNS, there are fans who are supportive, while others who said it’s like “Papa Katsugiwaku” (suspicion of sugar daddy type of activity).
