A day before its release in theaters, the latest “Crayon Shin-Chan” film has been postponed due to surging coronavirus infections

The latest animated “Crayon Shin-chan” film titled “Crayon Shin-chan Mysterious Meki! Hana no Tenkas Gakuen” was scheduled to be in theaters on April 23rd has been postponed due to the increase of the novel coronavirus infections.

The public commemorative stage screening scheduled for Saturday, April 24th, has been canceled.

Toho said they will announced more about the film’s new date on the official website.

The Japanese government is considering of putting Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto and Hyogo Prefectures under a State of Emergency starting on Sunday through May 11th to curb the surging COVID-19 infections.  The new State of Emergency will have tougher restrictions such as the closure of department stores and shopping malls through the Golden Week holidays.
