Mr.Children’s Sakura Kazutoshi and B’z Inaba Koshi appear together in a dialogue video

In a rare video together, Sakura Kazutoshi, vocalist of Mr. Children and Inaba Koshi, vocalist of B’z sat together in a dialogue video posted on the B’z YouTube channel and as part of Inaba’s official website, “en-zine”.

In a discussion about taking care of their throats during live performances and voice training, Sakurai revealed he had vocal cord surgery.

In 2002, Sakurai suffered from cerebral infarction and his throat was in a state of internal bleeding all the time, because he was taking medicine to prevent the formation of blood clots.

Sakurai confessed of being uncomfortable with his vocalizations and consulted with the doctor and found that if he stopped taking the medicine, they could use a laser to burn off the hardened parts of his vocal chords.

Sakurai also said the hardened part was not a vocal cord polyp.

It took nearly a year to sing on a live tour because he had to learn how to vocalize with a stiff vocal chord. Inaba sympathized with Sakurai of what he had to go through.
