“Berserk” mangaka Miura Kentarou has passed away

Mangaka Miura Kentaro who created “Berserk” has passed away on May 6th at 2:48 pm due to acute aortic dissection.

On May 20th, Hakusensha reported the news on their official website.

三浦建太郎先生が2021年5月6日、急性大動脈解離のためご逝去されました。先生の画業に最大の敬意と感謝を表しますとともに、心よりご冥福をお祈りいたします。

According to Mayoclinic, an aortic dissection is a serious condition in which the inner layer of the aorta, the large blood vessel branching off the heart, tears. Blood surges through the tear, causing the inner and middle layers of the aorta to separate (dissect).
