AKB48’s Mukaichi Mion tested positive for novel coronavirus

Mukaichi Mion (23), a member of AKB48 Team A and the general director of AKB48 Group took a PCR test and tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

Mukaichi had a fever and a sore throat and a PCR test was taken at a medical institution in Tokyo. While her physical condition is stable, she will be taking care of herself at home according to the instructions of the health center.

Her upcoming stage performance for “Shin Atami Satsujin Jiken” Kinokuniya Hall will be dismissed.

The staff of the event issued a statement that “for the safety of customers, cast and staff, we will be canceling all remaining performances at 1:00 pm on June 20th and 1:00 p.m. on June 21st. And we will be taking necessary measures as needed according to the public health center. Due to the cancellation of the performance, we will refund customers who have tickets to the performances”.
