Mukaichi Mion returns to AKB48 activities

Mukaichi Mion (23), a member of AKB48 Team A and the general director of AKB48 Group took a PCR test and tested positive for the novel coronavirus back on June 19th, has now met the criteria of medical treatment set by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare and will be resuming activities.

Mukaichi wrote on Twitter, “In the future, I will try to prevent infection even more, and at the same time, I will do my best to give back to future activities as much as I have received the support of many people”.

Back on June 19th, it was reported that Mukaichi had a fever and a sore throat and a PCR test was taken at a medical institution in Tokyo. While her physical condition is stable, she will be taking care of herself at home according to the instructions of the health center.

Her upcoming stage performance for “Shin Atami Satsujin Jiken” Kinokuniya Hall will be dismissed.

The staff of the event issued a statement that “for the safety of customers, cast and staff, we will be canceling all remaining performances at 1:00 pm on June 20th and 1:00 p.m. on June 21st. And we will be taking necessary measures as needed according to the public health center. Due to the cancellation of the performance, we will refund customers who have tickets to the performances”.
