Akimoto Osamu’s “Kochira Katsushika-ku Kameari Kōen Mae Hashutsujo” is back with a special 201st issue

Akimoto Osamu’s “Kochira Katsushika-ku Kameari Kōen Mae Hashutsujo” a.k.a. “Kochikame” was the previous Guinness Book of World Records for manga series with the most issues published volumes with its 200th final issue released in September 2016.

But Saito Takao’s “Golgo 13” surpassed it on July 5, 2021 with the release of the 201st issue and now has the Guinness Book of World Record for “The Single Manga Series with the most Published Volumes”.

The 201st volume of KochiKame will be exhibited at the Kochikame Exhibition to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the manga serialization but will be a special released at the venue.

The new manga will feature three newly drawn works recorded in the re-edited comic of Shueisha’s Jump Remix “Heisei Kochikame” series, plus six chapters published in “Weekly Shonen Jump” after 2017 including the extra manga drawn by Akimoto when he was awarded the Purple Ribbon Award.

Akimoto Osamu’s “Kochira Katsushika-ku Kameari Kōen Mae Hashutsujo” was serialiazed from 1976 to 2016.
