It was announced on the official AKB48 blog that seven members tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
The seven are Oomori Maho (21) of Team B, Kuranoo Narumi (20) of Team K, Sakaguchi Nagisa (20) of Team 4, Nagano Serika (20) of Team 4, Suzuki Yuuka (20), Uemi Sorano (20) and Tokunaga Remi (14).
According to the statement, “For Oomori Maho, Kuranoo Narumi, Nagano Serika and Suzuki Yuuka, the each had symptoms of fever on Friday, July 30th and Saturday, July 31st. A PCR was performed at a medical institution in the Tokyo metropolitan area. After undergoing an examination, the positive infection was confirmed at 23:00. In addition, Sakaguchi Nagisa and Oomori Maho had symptoms of fever yesterday on July31st and Tokunaga Remi, today on August 1st”.
