The Tokyo Yakult Swallows won game 6 at Hotto Motto Field in Kobe 2-1 in the 12 inning. The Tokyo Yakult Swallows has now won their sixth Japan Series Championship, their first since 2001.
The Swallows wnning the Japan Series championship also becomes the first championship for a Central League team since 2012, back when the Yomiuri Giants defeated the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters.
