The Hanshin Tigers win the Japan Series, first time in 38 years!

The all-Kansai Japan Series between the Hanshin Tigers and the defending champions, the ORIX Buffaloes is now over. And the Hanshin Tigers are the champs!

The Hanshin Tigers and the Orix Buffaloes were tied 3 wins apiece and with one game left, the Hanshin Tigers defeated the Orix Buffaloes 7-1.

For nearly four decades, fans have saw the Hanshin Tigers do badly in the playoffs and never could win the big one. They were compared to America’s baseball team, the Chicago Cubs (who won the World Series in 2016) and many believed the team was cursed to win.

The win, marks the group’s second Japan Series Championship win since 1985.
