Maezawa Yusaku tweets for the first time from space

ZOZO founder and one of the world’s most wealthy individuals, Maezawa Yusaku, had dreamed of going to space and now it has become a reality.

Maezawa will be at the International Space Station for a 12-day stay while being accompanied by a production assistant, Hirano Yozo who will document the businessman in space.

Maezawa launched to space from Baikonur, Kazakhstan on a Russian Soyuz rocket along with Russian astronaut, Alexander Misurkin.

Maezawa posted his first tweet from space with “uchu nau”, uchuu which means “universe” or “outer space”:

And this will not be his only time in space as Maezawa paid big money to become the first passenger to ride Elon Musk’s SpaceX’s Falcon starship, a massive next-gen rocket that will ferry NASA astronauts to the lunar surface. Whenever this happens (scheduled for 2023), Maezawa will be the first passenger to travel to the moon since the United States Apollo missions ended back in 1972.
